HIGHSCHOOL: A MONTH IN REVIEW

OLD FRIENDS, NEW FRIENDS- I have made many new friends and also kept all my old friends. Many of my new good friends play on the football team with me. Also in my classes
SHS ACTIVITIES ATTENDED- I have been to all of the varsity football games, invisible children was very touching and I hope I can help that cause in the next four years, the first two dances (freshman dance and the welcome back dance) I have also played in the freshman football games.
FUNNIEST, WEIRDEST, SCARIEST MOMENTS- I have had many funny moments with my new friends from Global Ed. I can’t share them all because it would be very long. I haven’t had too many weird moments yet… I haven’t been scared about anything yet either.
HARDEST, EASIEST CLASS AND ASSIGNMENTS- my hardest class would probably be Spanish, I don’t know why though. And Drawing one would be the easiest because all we do is draw and we don’t have homework.
TOP 5 CURRENT EVENTS-

FACES IN THE NEWS- Kim Jung Ill has cancer, Jennifer Granholm has been in Russia, Michael Jackson is dead, Obama tried to get the Olympics to be in Chicago.

FIRST CULTURAL EVENT- Invisible Children, this was a fun event and also very sad and touching. I probably won’t ever experience something like this for a long time. Hopefully I can help out this cooperation during my four years here at Stevenson.

HOMECOMING- I am going with Hannah, my good friend, and also a whole bunch of other people that I can’t name off the top of my head. We got a limo and we are all hanging out at my friend Rachel’s house

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOREWORD TO… next football season, the basketball season, Fridays and Sundays.

OTHER NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENTS OR EVENTS- made the football team and that's about it.

Culture, Culture, Culture

Culture, Culture, Culture
The American Culture is like a melting pot. That is how many people would describe it. This basically means that we have many different cultures mixing into one. I would describe the American culture as inviting, and we love fast food, and well in many ways busy. The American culture is very busy because it seems people don’t have enough time. The average American day starts with work (or school, depending how old you are) then get a quick dinner, then go out for the night. And for quick dinners, people get fast food. And we love fast food here. And going out for the night only happens a few nights a week. The rest of the nights are spent watching T.V. or being on the computer, or doing the extra work to do better. Now for me, and many other people, I always make time to go to church. Not many people in the American culture do. But I don’t only go to church; I go to church, then youth group then many other events for church. We have many holidays too. These holidays consist of Christmas, Fourth of July, Halloween, and Valentine’s Day, also Flag Day, we celebrate George Washington’s birth day too (I hadn’t ever heard of that day).
My culture consists of a lot of things. I am what is called a “mutt”. This means that I have many ethnicities’ in my family. We came from all around the world. My family has many home cooked meals that are delicious. My mom has many recipes that she uses that have been passed down from generation to generation. I haven’t heard many old story’s about when my grandparents where young, only a few. I would have loved to hear some, because I love history. My family always will get together for holidays and make our traditional food, depending on the holiday of course. And then we will sit and visit and talk about what has happened to us in the past few months, and what we are looking forward to in the next few months. We love sports. We play them all the time. We play sports, watch sports; we do just about anything with sports. Me, my two sisters and my brother are all in at least one sport, if not we are in two.
